Arctic navigation requires knowledge about ship – ice interactions. Various ice conditions can be expected in the Arctic ranging from level ice, ice ridge, broken ice, and also convoy belt operations (see the above figures).
SAMS is capable of simulating various ship structures in these different ice conditions. In this regard, SAMS can be utilised to conduct existing ship’s structural verification or conceptual, detailed ship structure design by simulations.
