Fracture of sea ice is a frequently observed physical process. Simulation of fracture is in general quite challenging. Our simulator offers three levels of solution to simulate the fracture of an ice floe while interacting with the structures:
- Analytical solution to simulate all types of fracture (i.e., local bending and global splitting failure);
- FEM based computational fracture mechanic simulation of large cracks + analytical solution of local cracks;
- All-inclusive simulation of different cracks with the lattice methods.
